Dad Of 6 Gets Random Text From Teen Girl While Wife Isn’t Home. His Response Goes Viral

We’ve all done it. All of a sudden you realize that the number your just texted or called was not who you were trying to reach! Well, that’s exactly what happened to one young woman named Sydney Uselton. She was trying on formal dresses and meant to send the pictures to a friend – but who responded was definitely not that person…

Sydney had no idea that her simple mistake would end up supporting the family of a young boy with a serious illness. That’s the powerful magic of social media!

Shortly after sending off two pictures of a gorgeous navy blue and rhinestone gown, two messages popped back on Sydney’s phone. When she read them, her heart skipped a beat!

Instead of reaching her friend, Sydney accidentally sent the photos to a father of six from Tennessee named Tony Wood. Rather than ignoring the messages, Tony decided to do something special!

Tony responded with the message:

“I believe this message was intended for someone else. My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!”

Sydney’s friend Mandi Miller got a huge kick out of Tony’s response and decided to share their exchange on Twitter! Neither of the girls expected the post to gain so much attention! Shortly after sharing screenshots of the messages, it was retweeted more than 177,000 times and liked by 700,000 users!

In an interview with Bored Panda, Tony admitted that he thought the kids’ reaction would be much better than his own!

“I thought, let’s try and make this young lady’s day… I figured that the children’s response would accomplish that substantially better than some middle-aged overweight bald guy!”

However, the silliness of the story quickly took a turn when Tony revealed one of his six children was missing from the photo. His four-year-old son Kaizler was away with his wife getting chemotherapy treatment for leukemia…

The moment Twitter users found out about Kaizler’s condition, they jumped into action! Someone shared his GoFundMe page online and the donations started to pour in. While the family was only looking to raise $10,000, users donated more than $41,000 – and the money kept coming in!

Tony was blown away by the kindness of strangers all over the globe and took to the page to share his family’s sincere appreciation.

He wrote:

“Hello everyone… First and foremost, I wanted to thank everyone SO MUCH for their kindness and generosity. God continues to show us He is there for us and it is awesome to see His love move!

With that said, we have more than TRIPLED our goal! Our needs to get back on our feet have been met! We can’t thank you enough, but any further donations are unnecessary!

Again, we can’t thank you enough for all of the love and support you have shown our family! You have provided more than enough and we will be forever grateful to all of you!

God bless and have a wonderful day!”

While the road to remission is a long one, Tony told Bored Panda that things are looking better.

“Kaizler is doing well. We still have about a little over a year worth of treatments to go. He really wanted to try going to Kindergarten, so we gave that a shot, but he was getting sick way too often and had several hospitalizations.”

Social media outlets are generally filled with controversy, hateful rhetoric and endless comment arguments – but this time, Twitter users came together in kindness!

We wish Kaizler nothing but the best in the years to come! He has the support of the whole Twitterverse and the love of millions sent his way. Please keep Kaizler in your thoughts and prayers!
